UKRAINE project identifies promising applications for EGNSS – focus on maritime and inland waterways, railways, mapping and others
A key component of the UKRAINE project is the investigation of existing and potential applications of GNSS in many different relevant industries and their prioritization with respect to the positive impact of introducing EGNSS through legislative support. GNSS Signal Monitoring Solution for aviation: an opportunity for Ukrainian airports
In the last decade, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) have gained an important position within our daily life, often hidden from plain sight. The use of interference monitoring solutions such as the one developed within the framework of the UKRAINE project can provide significant technical and operative advantages to the aviation industry and pave the way for EGNOS-based approach procedure adoption.

EGNSS Innovative Ideas Contest: three winning projects
The EGNSS Innovative Ideas Contest, a competition aimed at promoting the development of space EGNSS-based technologies and applications in Ukraine, awarded three winners selected among ten finalists. The final event took place on September 17th 2015 at the Centre of Innovation Entrepreneurship located in Kyiv. Read more on winning projects here

The 9th meeting of RNAV Approach Implementation Support Group (RAiSG 9)
The 9th meeting of RNAV Approach Implementation Support Group (RAiSG 9) was held at the premises of EUROCONTROL in Brussels on 12-13 November 2015.
The representatives of the UKRAINE project (UKraine Replication, Awareness and INnovation based on EGNSS), from the National Aviation University (Kyiv, Ukraine) Vasyl Kondratiuk and Svitlana Ilnytska, and from GNSS Expert Hans de With took part at the RAiSG 9 meeting.

The benefits of EGNOS extension to Ukraine
EGNOS, the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service, is the European Satellite Based Augmentation System designed to enhance the reliability and accuracy of GPS positioning information over Europe.

JUNE 2015

UKRAINE project consortium attended ICAO PBN EGNOS Workshop
Performance-based navigation (PBN) implementation and procedure design provisions were the topics of a 4 day workshop held by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Minsk (Belarus) on 7 – 10 April, 2015. During the event, Marc Torres, Air Navigation Engineer at Pildo Labs, presented the firm’s experience with design and flight validation of EGNOS-based procedures. Read the full press release here
